if you simply want to rid the car of the lowly amber lenses which many myself included think are not incredibly attractive, in favor of clear lenses (like people do with the front corners, rear side markers) then swap em out. I think you're caught up in this whole "image-thing", and I personally never got the impression that "fake" jspecs were an attempt to "fake" anything. I guess I just thought they were to modify the stock lights. If you wanted to "fake" the jspecs you'd have to do a bit more than swap out the lenses. From what I gather jspecs used to be quite expensive and folks opted for this alternative to keeping stockers. Didn't realize that meant they were "faking" something. I personally would rather have the "fakes" than the stock ambers. Just looks fresher.
